HS1: Applying Health and Safety Legislation and Manual Handling Techniques

Level 2 - 3 Credits

This module provides a comprehensive understanding of workplace health and safety legislation, including COSHH regulations, fire safety procedures and risk identification. It also covers manual handling regulations and equips learners with the skills to demonstrate safe lifting and handling techniques.

CURRICULUM
Learning Outcome 1: Understand Health and Safety Legislation relating to workplace/company premises
Learning Outcome 2: Know principles of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) legislation in relation to own place of work/company premises
Learning Outcome 3: Know fire drill procedures in own place of work
Learning Outcome 4: Know manual handling regulations
Learning Outcome 5: Be able to demonstrate safe lifting and handling techniques

HS2: Safety and Infection Control for Funeral Staff

Level 2 - 1 Credit

Equip yourself with essential knowledge of workplace safety, infection control and first-aid provisions. This module also covers accident reporting, clinical waste management, infection prevention and the proper use of PPE.

Learning Outcome 1: Understand first aid provision in the workplace
Learning Outcome 2: Know obligations for the reporting of accidents in the workplace
Learning Outcome 3: Understand the key principles of correct handling of clinical waste
Learning Outcome 4: Understand infection control and rules for self-hygiene
